Getting more out of my slow motion.

I've seen some footage of people slowing down 60fps slo-mo in post even more so they can get a car or a forklift to almost come to a complete stop, I shot something with 60fps and imported it into fcp then tried to slow it down even more in fcp but all I got was stuttering and bad looking slow motion. What is the best way to accomplish this, if I want something to look slower than 60fps? Is this even possible?

Thanks alot for your help.

Also, for a lot of editing packages you can do still slow things down in even increments (i.e. 200%, 400%, etc). I can't remember if fcp is still crappy with these time stretches, but it's worth a shot. I'm out in the middle of nowhere right now, and so I can't really check. Also, after effects has what is called time remapping and pixel motion. If you have that program, I would try that out before going out and buying twixtor. Mind you, twixtor is pretty sweet.
