actually, heh, i was a heavy drug user for about two years. cocaine. i've talked about this on the forum before so it's no big deal. had to stop because i lost control. actually, my brother wrote me a letter detailing everything he saw me doing to myself. some friends stepped in too. so i stopped, before it ruined me. that was four years ago.

my girlfriend keeps me straight now too. i also quit smoking and couldn't have without her non-judgmental support.
 
finalized color today. kevin burst into my bay with his video camera and assaulted me with questions about I F*CKING HATE YOU. he says he's going to cut it together and post it here soon. we'll see. i hate being interviewed.

also, tomorrow I have f*cking jury duty which means i'll be working on sound design and mix on the weekend. awesome, huh?

I like the look of your actress, she has a Nicole Kidman quality to her. Having seen some of your stuff, you really can nail hand held. I am looking forward to it. sorry to hear about the jury duty.

heh, i've asked her about the "resemblance". she says she hears three different actors all the time -- nicole kidman, amy adams and naomi watts. depending on the camera angle, i've seen glimpses of all three.

everything I know about handheld camera work was really inspired by my mentor, Blaine Golden. :)

I'm keeping a live jury duty journal here.

okay, got out of jury duty at 3pm today. back at the shop now. color grading is going to have to stop where it is. not entirely happy with it, but i'm going to have to live with it for this version. i'll continue to tweak for the 9 minute cut, but I really have to get this 6 minute cut out the door.
 
i've got the scope matte back on all the clips and have adjusted the offset for each, fine tuning the framing. and now i'm re-rendering in prores hq. says it will take 18 minutes.....

...the saga continues... next step, sound design and mixing.... then i'll do the 6 minute cutdown from that.

Hi DVX I'm new here - nice to meet everyone.

I have been following the LoveFest(ival) threads since Zak has been steadily working on his short film for the DVX Lovefest and putting everything else in our entire company on hold.

We don't know what to do without him, so please let me know when it's over. :dankk2:

Also, that's why I decided to make (and finish) a super short Behind the Scenes on I F*CKING HATE YOU documentary, piece, whatever it is. It's sort of a spontaneous series of thoughts about the project, that were coming forth during the color correction of the project. Zak had no idea what I was going to do. I walked in on him and started shooting and asking questions in a belligerent manner.

It took me about five hours to shoot & cut it from the initial assault when I "burst" into Zak's bay. I could have worked on it longer, but I promised to make dinner for my girl and I figured I'd keep working the next day (which was yesterday).

BUT then... Matt Garrett needed my bay again (for what Zach Sheehan said was going to be "one-full-day" power session edit.)

I knew you can't cut a piece in one-day. (I mean, besides this BTS documentary I was making on I F*CKING HATE YOU.).

65RMP WMD - I know it's for a good cause, I'm kidding. Matt and Zach, of course I'd like to be cutting again this weekend, but I screwed up and told you it's free all-day today so now I'm in my dining room with cancelled daytime plans, typing this, bayless, penniless, tired and confused. But I stop and think what it would be like to have something cool in the can like Garrett and Sheehan do - and not having a way to get it out there. It gives me the shivers.

Re: my bay, i'll be patient to get her back fellas. just let me know anytime she's free so I can squeeze in some weekend private time with her to output.

and ASAP I'll release this little thing I made on Zak while he was coloring I F*CKING HATE YOU if anyone wants to see it.
