Edge to Edge Sharpness on LE

just tested my c/y 50mm f/1.4 adapted on e0s mount to the letus e0s mount... yes... there is some play sadly... hope they fix this problem soon.

Shane - are you saying the mount itself has some play where it connects to the Letus, or is it between the lens and the mount that you're seeing movement?
Luis,
It's between the lens and the adapter. The nikon mount on the letus really is a pos. If you look at a nikon extension ring like these http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/nikonf2/macro/index1a.htm the mount is machined, the Letus one has these spring clips that don't really hold the lens tight enough and the inside diameter of the mount is too big which allows some side to side movement.
I really need the new mount.
Shane.

i have a spare Letus extreme and a spare brevis. Maybe I should send them to Les to see if he can make us all a really really good nikon mount.

Would people be interested if I did that?

I've had three adaptors: Brevis, SG, and LE. The SG mount is acceptable, not great. Had nothing but troubles and jiggles with the other two. My LE (no longer have it) had a Nikon mount that wouldn't click to lock in so they sent me another - same thing.

It's time the adaptors step up to better mounts. It's worth the extra change as the the jiggles from bad mount cost way too much.

I'm definitely up for a conversion. Consider me in.

I have never had anything manufactured from either. I have heard great things about Les Bosher and he really understands the game.

Take a good look around the SRB website and give them a call. They were quite happy to knock me up a BNCR adaptor for the Brevis ( until I decided against buying the lenses, mistake)

Perhaps take one to Bosher, the other to SRB and see who makes the best?

Anyone else having this issue or is it just my nikon mount?
Shane.

I'll have to look at my Nikon mount more closely tonight but I don't recall it ever having any play in it whatsoever.

Phil, I'd definitely be interested in a high quality Nikon mount if it were at a 'reasonable' price including shipping costs...

Well, I checked my Nikon LEX mount last night and just as I thought; no play in it at all.

I also got to play a little bit with my new Voigtlander 58mm 1.4 lens. Extremely well built; nice, heavy feel. The large focus ring is silky smooth and has a quite a bit more turns from min to max focus than my Nikon 50mm. At first blush, it definitely seems sharper than the Nikon but I'll have to conduct some more thorough tests with the LEX when I get some free time.

Letus sent me a new mount when i told them i had play in it. I am also going to have t osell off my 135mm lens due to the focus wheel being too stiff to use with a follow focus. I think using it may be slowly damaging the stiffness of my lens to mount security.

Footages. :D

Sony EX1 optimization kit includes a custom achromat lens and thread ring. This corrects the issues in the Sony EX1 lens and gives you sharp focus across the entire image.

Has anyone used this on HVX?
Do we have to change our achromat?
