Hello,

i want to connect my XH A1 to a Lacie CRT monitor, to use it as a reference, so that i wouldn't have to buy very expensive monitors, but as i understand i would need some coverter?

did anyone do something like this before? it's just i don't use this CRT anymore, but it has good colors, so i want to use it on shooting stage...

thanks

just surmising, but you should be able to use the cable that came with the xha1, buy a trio of rca couplers, and connect that to a component-to-vga adapter cable.

as i was searching, there isn't any simple component to vga... there has to be a converter, as component is digital, vga is analog...

Not all VGA displays are going to be compatible with component video sources even with an adapter--I don't know about CRT computer monitors, but I know some old LCD projectors won't take component on their VGA. For those that do, though, all that's needed is an RGBHV-to-VGA adapter, and then you only use the red, green, and blue cables, ignoring the black and yellow. (Most of these are BNC connectors on the "breakout" end, so you'd need BNC-to-RCA adapters and then probably RCA barrels as well.)

not necessarily, i can output 576i to the monitor...

anyway, seems like i will have to get a sony prof tv so i could
calibrate it properly and use it, instead of 25 kg lacie crt...

I looked into doing this but seemed a bit of a pain your monitor would have to be able to display 1080 it wont upscale, in the end I got a cheap hdtv with component in,

cheers Russ
