If you want to see the full uncompressed QT version or want the iPod version, PM me.

I really liked it man. I an enjoying the series thus far. Nice smooth camera movements. Got any motion control tools for the shots?

Yo Dory, the bike scenes were again fantastic. However the interview at the start needed a little more pazazz. I can see buy your composition that you were sticking to the rule of thirds but man, for that particular shot there was just way too much headroom. I would of maybe used the wide for his introduction but then kept it all close-ups and mediums and maybe have done a side shot, but with fairly rapid cuts to build some excitment. It looked a bit stagnent and the audio sounded like it was @64kbps, it was a bit Dr. Spockish for me.

Cool stuff, man. Like the dolly shots, you are using a cablecam? How does it work?
Man, that lefty fork has always scared me, it looks so...unnatural (I know it works though) :)

Onboard mic man... kills the whole thing. I am terrible at interviews, I need to work on that. thanks for the tips, I'll try to remember them next time. I thought about doing an extreme close up with his eyes at hte top and mouth/chin at the bottom and changing zoom levels as he talked and then cutting it to look good, but he was wanting to ride, it was starting to rain and the onboard mic would have picked up the sound of the zoom. As for the audio, I have NO idea what happened. theres a little bit of background noise from the wind and camera noise and a little of me breathing, but I ran some noise reduction on it in Soundbooth. It sounds fine on my iPod and on my TV (same audio compression). Reccomend a good entry level mic?

Yep, that was my first real test of that cablecam. Shakey, but the concept works i think i just need smoother rope (and static rope). Its basicly a point a to point b line (tree to tree in this case) with a simple truck running on it. its 5 pieces of wood, one bolt, a nut and some pulleys. the camera mounts directly to the lower part of the truck via another bolt that is the right thread size and diameter, and the lower part of the truck can be pivoted prior to its release on both x and y axis's. Smooth, static rope would completely take all the bumpyness out methinks. And yeah, lefty forks scare me soooo much. He loves it tho, says he doesnt even think about his fork while he rides.

A Rode NTG 1 or 2 would be nice, also a Rode VM

Thanks for the info man. Just one more thing, do you attach the cable to the threes by screws or tie it around the tree(cant really imagine this happening if you are using a stiff cable though)?

Thanks man, do have a link or something to where I can look at one of those cablecam setups?
Seems like a neet feature :)
