CARRY-ON - A Caffesse/Wildman Film

Hey Luis, congrats on entering the fest. I have seen your furry face many times on dvxuser, but not here in the festival section. Is this your first or am I mistaken?

Either way, best to you!

Looking forward to seeing your work!

CAFFESSE will your wife be helping you out on this one?

Both my wife and Cliff's wife were indispensible during the production on this
(as well as during the prepro and writing stages).

Actually the BTS stills on the first page were all taken by my wife.
Cliff's wife also took a bunch of photos, but I haven't seen any of those yet.

And, as always, they are our sounding boards during the editing process.
So yeah, most definitely - we couldn't get anything done without their help and support.

We're both incredibly lucky to have wives that support such ridiculous endeavours.
:)

Quick update:

In the throes of editing...and I'm pretty optimistic that we're not going to have an issue with the running time
(knock on wood with fingers crossed).

I have so far cut 3:27min - and that represents the first 4 full pages of the script.
The script is about 6.5 pages (maybe a little bit more).
So while it'll be tight, it looks like we'll be coming in just at (or under) the limit.
(as long as things keep going at this pace, of course)

whew.

Of course, I'm probably the only one who was losing sleep over this.
:)

Now all we have to worry about is making the deadline....

Update -

JUST finished the first rough cut.
I just cut it as written - not worrying about the length....

Pleased to see that it came in at 5 min 54 seconds.
How's that for writing it close?
:)

If anything - our final cut will probably be a little shorter... but not by much.
The thing is still very rough right now - audio is all over the map - some cuts are definitely in need of some tweaking, etc etc etc. But - I'd say we're 50% of the way there in at least having our rough cut done (and on schedule also).

No grabs yet.
You guys are just going to have to hold tight.

Deadline we set for ourselves is Tuesday night for the final picture lock - then we'll move onto audio and color work.
That's when you might see some grabs...

Then again - I can't help but think...we're talking about a 6 minute short....
...how much of it do you really want to see before you just watch the thing?

(then again, I'm the kind of guy who won't even look at a movie poster - much less a trailer - if I think I'm going to want to see the movie)
