Heres a link to a music video i shot all on the A1 a few months ago. (finally got it edited and up) Its for an artist called "Tyga", he's cousins with Travis Mccoy the lead singer/rapper of Gym Class Heroes. Not sure if anyone here knows of that group...

well, heres the link on my blog with a good quality flash version:

let me know what you think.

Pretty good, theres a couple things that set off a red flag for me:

1. The drop shadow isn't doing it for me (example at :43) It's too distracting.
2. Several of the shots are very dark like 1:35, 2:16
3. Some of the keying is suspect, like the blond girl's hair.

I like your illustated city backgrounds. Even though they are static they seem to work. The plane & birds flying by= nice.
I also liked that GTA font & glow.

Overall good job. I didn't know people were producing videos up in the North Pole.

thanks. Yeah, in the north pole i got all of santa's shitty green screen keyers helping me. lol nah. Yeah what you said is basically what everyone else who has commented elsewhere has said too. The keying was a pain because each layer (each different shot) is for the entire duration of the music video, so basically i had to have an all around "decent" key for the entire 2:30 on each layer. Also, if you saw the conditions i shot this under you would laugh. I think someone "bootlegged" the shoot and its on you tube. It was basically a parking lot with all natural light outside of a concert venue in san jose CA.

The artist made the "story board" and when he showed me what he wanted behind the green screen i said "i hope you have the money so i can go fly to your desired locations and shoot the back plates"

Thats why these things are a hit or miss because dont understand you cant just hit a magic button to generate the backplate for whats going to replace the green screen. lol.

So basically i went all static and comped some stuff together and to give it less of a static feel i comped the moving clouds and did some grain matching.

It is what it is, low budget strikes again in the north pole!

thats right, gotta keep those elves busy. They get anything except for freedom. lol. Nah, im the one doing the keys. And yeah there are some terrible ones

The only thing I really didn't like was those rain effects. It just seemed unnecessarily cheesy... To me it distracted from the content. Other than that, for zero budget, great job!

All things considered, I would say you did a great job!

I would love to see the BTS footage on YouTube.

And, I think the other guys are right about a little bit too much of the digital rain.

I thought for 0 budget it was good. Fix the key a little and I totally agree with dougster - scrap the rain.
