Screen Displays show up on recording download!

I have yet to figure the correct display settings, so the screen display info is visible during recording, but not during playback or on downloaded video. All "VCR/PLAY" display settings are set to OFF. Can Someone advise?

:beer: There is a disp button above magn, peek etc button. Press that 3 times to get three different displays.
 
there are custom functions in the menu settings, dig upto "Character Recording" (it should be 20th and last fucntion setting) set it to OFF.

there can be other settings too.

Just take time, put a new tape and play with everything. I havnt found any lethal button on the Cam which can cost us. reading XH-A1 Manual pdf helped me learn during initial stages

Checked the "Character Recording" setting to find it set to "OFF". It appears to only affect the Time/Date characters.

What happens with the display button is this. If I set the "Recording" display settings to provide exposure information, I can toggle the displayed info on or off with the button, but when it is toggled on, it seems to become a permanent part of the recording.

During play back, even though all playback display setting are to "OFF" the displayed exposure settings show up, and the "Display" button has no affect.

It also is present on downloads to the PC.

I continue to re-read the manual in hopes that I have over looked something, but maybe it's one of those"That's so obvious we don't need to put it in the manual" things.
