I Posted This Question The Other Day And All Responses Said 'of Course The Hv20 Has Zebra Function'....
I Went Back A Perused The Hv20 Pdf Manual And Ill Be Damned If I Can Find A Page Number Listed In The Summary.
Receive The Cam Friday And Would Like To Test Drive It, Anyone Know Where The Zebras Are Referenced To In The Manual ???
Thx, Sundance

Page 43 of the manual. Basically you go into the camera menu, the display setup section, then down to Assist Functions. From there you can turn on 70 or 100% zebra stripes as well as peaking/focus enhance (or turn it all off).

Thx Verrrry Much For The Info, Ill Ck It Immediately, For A Function So Important You'd Think They'd Just List It In The Index Under Zebra.

Peaking makes it easier to see what's in focus in your frame. It gives it a faint outline... I've found that it can be a little hard to see at first (on my DVX--haven't turned it on for my HV20 yet). It can help you make sure that your focus is where you think it is.

Do you guys usually try to avoid overexposing anything? I recently attempted to make sure I couldn't see any zebra markings and the shot was pretty evenly lit, but I thought it came out a bit too dark.

It's ok to have a little bit of zebra markings...I think:happy:

Peaking doesn't help me much on the HV20, as it seems to draw an outline around everything, like an unsharp mask or something. It's okay for getting proper back-focus on the GG if you're using a 35mm adapter. On the DVX (the 100A anyway) it does really help a lot though, even if it also magnifies noise on the LCD.
