Halo problems / Green screen / HVX 200

Yeah, I've been looking for Ultimatte for Nuke, but can't find it.

I see what you mean about Ultimatte and why it isn't used that much in most studio workflows. Primatte + Keylight is a great combination.

I've used Ultimatte in Fusion and got pretty good results... but I like Nuke a lot more and that's what I'm really leaning towards for a vfx / compositing tool. I really want to sit down and work on the IBK keyer...

I'm curious about sliding the mattes that you talk about. Are you using that to pull the actual edge matte itself? I'm a little confused... Then again, I'm not a professional compositor, just working at getting really good at this stuff now. I've got a copy of "Digital Compositing for Film and Video", but I doubt they cover the more advanced topics.

I'm working on another comp. but as soon as I get to a point i can close her down, I'll open up another comp and take a screen grab of the node placement for you.

its sort of an edge replace. those black ad white lines kill the edge, if you look, you'll see that they are a lack of information, the black is 0 black. and it shows up as 0 in every channel but green which is why we are lossing it, as we are removing the green. That seems to me why folks on a blue screen have better luck with the hvx

as I promised, here are some grabs,

he first one shows the tree, its a pretty simple tree, normally a key tree will be 4 or 5 times larger, but I was really carefull when shooting the GS, and his ourfit helps a lot, not a lot of hair to deal will, soon I'll jump on my leading actresses GS shot, she is Asian, and Dark over the gs makes the black line a it heavier. makes me wish everyone was fair skinned with blond hair. lol

first image, main tree

second image is of the matte slide, do this for every portion of the matte, then there are several ways to bring it together.

hope it helps.

Hey Jason, thanks for posting that.

So you're shifting pixels and then reapplying the matte? Or is your Move2D shifting your alpha channel? I'm not that familiar with Shake. Is the right side of the top of the node for the Mask channel and the left side for the RGBA coming into the node?

Thanks again.
