Short Film "sta Volta"

Wow.
Interesting work.
Looked fantastic - sounded fantastic.

Personally I would have appreciated shortening the entire length up to the end, and giving me more at the end - it felt a little rushed in the last few moments. Actually - now that I think about it, I think its just that I'm not digging the fades to black during that last sequence. We spent so much time in the trunk - which was basically black - scene - black - scene...etc... that once we're in the ending sequence I expect to (and look forward to) it playing out in a continuous scene. The fades to black really threw me.

OH MY GOD - as I'm writing this the closing credits are playing....
And that shot just came up....

you never let up do you?
:)

Nice work.

Thanks everyone :)

I'm happy you like it

I just can't translate the end song that we wrote with my brother, because it is just something i should not write on a public forum lol :)

It is a "parallel" with the story, but a bit more "spicy" i would say.

Only Italian can understand ;-))))))))

thanks

actually yes, it was done on purpose, because of the position of the woman in the trunk

well, try to watch the movie on a good audio system, believe me you will appreciate it much more than on a computer.

fred :)
Exactly. You hear this effect in movies all the time. I love it and use it myself occasionally.

Holly Sh*t this would have been perfect for Love Fest!

Yes, it's all about love!

In a very sick and twisted sadistic way of course.

But, love non the less.

It's such a shocking film.

Even though I have shown it to several friends and watched it again with them each time it still leaves me with chills.

How did you guys come up with the concept?

What story do you want your work to tell?

The complicit priest is genius.

Thanks so much for your comments. We really appreciate it.

Well my brother lived in Napoli, Italia for a year and he was so impressed by napolitans behaviour that he wanted to write this short story about this 2 friends and this aborted wedding.

I am so sorry that my english is so poor that i would not be able to perfectly translate my feelings about that ! Napolitans are hot people, they often show some "machism", some male strength. I don't know if what i'm writing makes sense to you.

It is typical from south european countries, especially with italians.

Off course it is just a film. We can exagerate everything because we are not in real life. But this what is good, not to be limited in anyway in our work or in our imagination.

I understand.

Go ahead and write in Italian as there are certainly some here who are fluent and those who can understand to a decent degree.

I was just relieved to see that I'm not the only one who puts my girlfriend in the boot and pisses on her when she crosses me.
Most of the men around here just piss on their girlfriend without putting her in the boot.
I was starting to feel a bit weird about my behaviour.

No... you are completely normal.

"Amen! Pass the Malt Liquor!" :costumed-smiley-047

Awesome.

I actually enjoyed the length of time in the trunk without video.
I don't think the film would have been as exciting if the trunk scenes were shorter or lit differently.
That's what I liked about it so much, the suspense built up from waiting to see what happens next.

Well, it is not such an easy thing because :

I do not speak Italian, I do speak french, my brother wrote the story, he speaks Italian, we both directed the project ! So I can only explain whatever you want to know in french, because my brother is now in Mexico. What a weird team :cheesy:

actually that is what I like much too.
We spent a lot of time working on thoses dark scenes, for the viewer to feel very close to the person in the trunk, trying to figure out what would happen at the next stop.

A lot of people told me they were unable to say if it is a man or a woman in the trunk until we show that on the last scene. I'm happy about it !

Even most of them told us they thought it was a man, what about you guys ?

Yes, I did think it was a man for a fair bit of it. The muffled screaming is relatively ambiguous.
