P2 download to Macpro question (& monitor advice)

I just bought a old titanium powerbook g4 with PCMCIA slot for few euro's
Now I'm save in the field and when I'm back home I got the time on my side to plug in my powerbook to the powermac g5.
I'm also not happy with the workflow to connect hvx with via firewire powermac g5.

About how much is a used powerbook going for?
And how do you connect to the G5, LAN or FW?

That is so strange to me. p2 Store is friggin USB2, but that isn't a technical problem.

A single card firewire reader for $450.00 would sell out for just about everybody.

C'mon Panasonic

You are not just whistling dixie either, anyone out there with the know how go ahead and make it up, Ill be your first customer. This is why my FS gets so much use.

To original poster - pana firewire ports seem to be notorius for burnout. Scary? No, not really. Follow my simple advice for happy firewire ports. Mac on, Camera off, battery not mounted. Connect FW cable to camera FIRST then mac, insert battery and power on your camera. Happy camping.

Well the prices are in Europe higher than there in USA I bought one for 350 euro
Probable you can via Ebay get there in USA much cheaper one.

The valuta on this moment is : 1 euro=1.47 dollar

The connection i make with my powerbook directly with firewire on my g5 and sometimes LAN don't matter the point is that i don't whant use my hvx connected with the firewire.
