This is a VERY funny commercial I shot with writer/actor David Doumeng.

Directed by me (Paul Del Vecchio)

Written by David Doumeng

Starring David Doumeng as The Runner and Paul Del Vecchio as The Driver.

VFX by Paul Del Vecchio
Edited by Paul Del Vecchio

I know... you're probably saying.. "Another commercial spoof...:thumbdown " but trust me, this one's funny!

It's 40 seconds....

Let me know what you think!

Thanks!

Looked great, I loved the concept and the car hit composite/effect was very clean. The actor was very entertaining, he has a great laugh at the end. Good looking stuff.

The absolute only negative thing I have to say is that your "swish pan" seems to turn screen left, while the accident happened screen right. I know that the camera could have turned around about 270* degrees to the accident, but the camera man in your fictional world would not have done that nor, does an audience in this reality accept that logic at first.

You know what's weird is that even though it seems to pan to the left, I actually panned to the right. After watching it again, it does look like a pan to the left. That's weird... If you watch it frame by frame(not sure if you can do that on MySpace Video) you can see it actually does pan to the right. Not sure why it looks that way. Strange...

Thanks for watching though!

Funny concept, kind of jackass meets got milk.

Well I only noticed the swish pan looks like it goes left after it was mentioned. I though it panned right the first two times, but now I see it. Wierd.

i liked it! but the man who had het him just walks out with his hands in his pocket like he doesn't care! haha, but besides that, it was really good.

Yes, the concept was OK. But the way the "accident" looks... no, no - kinda ruins the whole thing... to have this work, the accident needs to look 100% believable, and it absolutely does not. Sorry.

I didn't find it funny but I thought the car hit was fine. The pan definately looks to go left first.

I wonder if you had your image stabilizer on. Otherwise, well done.

Paul,

Can you post a high def version?

Also, do you have some behind the scenes for how you pulled off the car hit?

Great work again!

Thanks!

I thought the car hit looked very believable.. and to be honest Id rather it not look ULTRA real. It's funny this way. I still like it!

ps odd about that pan, whoever suggested the EIS might be onto something
