CompUSA is shutting down

the news came out last week that an apple store was coming to my town, so i knew it was probably death to compusa at that point. the following day, "compusa to close.."
knowing them, they'll mark everythng up before they put the 20% off tags up.

i have a question for barry . is it possible to acsess footage on a 16gb p2 card after it is formatted . any chance. my p2 genie was set up to download and formatt and it looked like it was downloading . but just cleaned off the p2 card and ejected it. then i formatted it in the camera . any chance to recover footage?

I just shoot 'em with rubber bands.

Of course, finding the rubber-band aisle can take hours. Better bring a supply of your own, when you arrive.

Very true. You almost have to punch one of the employees in the jaw to get their attention.

I use to work for CompUSA like 8 years ago and I can tell you we use to treat the customers like crap, managers included.

A funny story, a couple of years back I went to buy a computer from that same Compusa, all new management and employees and guest what, I got treated like crap... LOL

I don't know, something in their training manual I guess.

I used to work at a Circuit City. I was the same way, treated people like crap. But the thing is, it wasn't really the way all the employees treated everyone, just me... needless to say, I was fired...

... and quickly snatched up by CompUSA.
I can hear the conversations in the backroom now....

"We heard this great guy just became available, this guy REALLY knows how to treat customers like crap."

"What are you waiting for? Get him on the phone!"

Yeah, apparently I was so good at treating customers like crap, they decided to give me a 25 cent raise the same day I was hired.

Not really surprising. There was always something weird about CompUsa. It's almost like a "Wallgreens" of computers stuff. I always go to Microcenter instead.

Well, if anybody is interested, The Compusa near me was having their final closeout, which included 30% off Mac software. That put The FCS2 at just over 900 bucks and the upgrade at $350. That's a screaming deal.

They still had a couple of each at that one, but I imagine mileage will vary.

The CompUSA I went to last weekend was almost bare. The only left-overs worth looking at were the motheboards, but all they had were AMD-based. Yecch. (And, apparently, I'm not alone in thinking that, sicne they were left. :) )
