Holy Crap, I'm a Dad!!

My wife was almost 4 weeks early, but began having pains. When she laid on her side, the baby's heartrate dropped to 80bpm. Not good. So we went to the Hospital, and they did a C-section, and things are looking up. They had to revive the baby, but mom and child are doing just fine.

Me, I am a nervous wreck. 14 hours in hospital will test the merit of just about anyone.

I will have pic, as soon as they come. being so nervous, I didn't bring my D70, and shame on me.

To top it all off, we had over 8 inches of snow. THAT made things fun.

So cheers to all, and another 6 pound 2 once child is amoung usl

His first toy will be a DVX, let us see how he uses it.

Peace out.

Congratulations. Glad everyone is doing well. Home movies of the kids growing up is another good excuse to buy more "toys". At least that's what you can tell the wife.

Congrats!

How'd you know it went to 80bmp?

r

Maybe they used this... http://www.healthchecksystems.com/babybeat.htm

All the nurses told us that we were going to have a baby girl because the heart rate was so steady and calm.
We had no idea if it was going to be a boy or a girl.
The 4 or so nurses all predicted a girl for that very reason. They were right on.

Congrats to you and your family! I'm glad that everything worked out despite the scare.

Best wishes!

Congrats, man. That's awesome. DVXuser's are some baby making machines lately!

My wife and I just had our second on my birthday on October 30th.

Our first was a 60 hour labor for her. Our second was much quicker, but the baby was sunny side up so the pushing was much harder on her.

Congratulations!

Excellent. Nothing is quite as frighening or as exhilirating as becoming a parent. Congrats.

Your story is almost exactly what happened to us, except he was 3 weeks early, and there was no snow (it was july) But his heartrate kept dropping so they sliced her open.

Welcome to fatherhood.

Wow Matt - congratulations to your newly formed family.
I'm glad to hear everyone is okay after such an ordeal.
I wish you all the best - and here's hoping for a speedy and full recovery for both mother and child. Get some sleep - it's your last chance ...until maybe 2025.

Congratulations Matt. What a crazy, harsh and wonderful thing parenting is. It's amazing in so many ways, so congrats again.

If you're like me your brain is fried and the fear of a preemie is overwhelming. My baby girl was born 5 weeks early and had to be revived, couldn't breath on her own, etc.

Well, what a difference a few months can make. Hang in there.

Best,

Jason
