The Master - A S16mm short film

andrew, not sure if you've ever check out Kodak Look Manager, but it's a pretty cool program for set stills. I used it on-set as a general reference for color and lighting.

Also, I want everyone to know I am 20 years old, and this is my second film I've shot on film. I have a lot to learn, but I feel I am on the right path.

My favorite grab. Looks great!!!

Dude I'm about to turn 24 and I've been doing the film/video thing for 8 years now and I'm finding that everything I learned in the past has taken a 180 flip with the introduction to HD and 35mm adapters, so keep on that path! Your stuff looks great!

You have a very clean look to your film stills... what type of scan and DI do you use?

And can I ask for whom or what this is for? Is this a student film? I'd love to shoot with the ARRI 416 , so I'm envious!

The ONLY reason I would guess this a student film is your age and experience. It looks much better then most student stuff I see.

Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, this is a Full Sail production, however, the only real influence the school played on the film was supplying equipment, as well as locations/permits.

The film was scanned onto Digi Beta from a supervised best light scan. The film is in the cutting room now, and will be available here after it is released.

andrew, talk to gail sanchez at Kodak in hollywood, she does student services. She can more than likely hook you up with an activation code that is good for 90 days... thats what I did.

UPDATE-

The film is nearly done in the cutting room, I went in for color timing and correction tonight, everything looks great.

The director and producer are talking now about getting it into the festival circuit, we'll see what happens with that.

I'd expect to see it around Christmas.

A lot of it looks really nice... the trailer uses the same hand shots on the piano more than once, none of them look like the kid knows how to play. If you're worried about really annoying pianists, try and make your hand shots look competent (and match the music - don't do all the horrible things they did in August Rush!)

I'm simply displaying the trailer for my work, the cinematography. If the director and editor wish to use those shots, who am I to disagree.
