Hey guys I'm so excited to show you guys what I shot over the week for a client in UK..

This is just some raw cuts from some of the footage I shot, too excited to wait for the director to finish his post-production.. so heres some cuts with CineVera's reel track..

http://fps.carbonmade.com/projects/101840

XHA1, Letus Econ, Nikon 50mm
Fresnel 600w, 600w, 1000w, Redhead 800w
No colour correction.

may i ask how you shot the overheads of the children? I think the only thing i thought out of place was the zoom on the mother. since all your shots were so still and well thought out.

Hey guys, I used Steven's VIVIDRGB settings (added some sharpness and colour gain)

I guess it looked really good becos of how much we lit it... we had 4 lights (600w 600w 800w 1000w)

I shot it on 50i becos the director wanted it that way.. I think we cant see the difference via the .mov stream online right?

We used a jib/dolly for the classroom/graduration shots.. it was really hard to execute.. so we needed alot of practice before we went for a take..

Thanks for all the comment guys, I read and learn everything of this site - so the credit should really go to the community here!

Ok I felt the image would be "fuller" if I colour-corrected it.. it somehow look "raw" and "dull" - any ideas on how I should go about colour-correcting it? (I have LITTLE exp doing it)

*Oh, anyone stays in LA? I wanna attend a summer film cse if there is any - any recommendations?*

I see you've put it up on dvxuser. I did the lighting for this production, and david and I alternated on the camera from shot to shot. Glad that something I've shot has finally garnered a 'best A1 footage Ive ever seen' comment! I normally shoot on a DVX, so david(hobbes00) would fuss around with the camera settings at the start of each day, so i wouldn't need to play around with scene files and stuff. I'm really satisfied with the sharpness of the letus economy, however they weren't as sharp in a couple of shots. I'm assuming it was coz i shot with the lens wide open then. Some of the shots are a bit jerky as well due to fact that the tripod head that we rented was total crap. Other than that I'm totally enthralled by the footage! I want an A1 so badly now...

The director called most of the shots, and I'm guessing he's got something planned for the zoom on the mother shot. In any case, if he wanted he could just cut the zoom altogether and shot the wide over the shoulder shot and the mother shouting - We've got plenty of footage of both.

I'm not very sure on the music...David just cobbled the clips together and used one of his tracks. He said it's the same one as the one on the cinevera site.

Most definitely. I bought it because it was 400 dollars cheaper than the extreme, but contains the same guts. However, if I get more jobs I'll sell it and switch to the extreme due to it's robustness and professionlism.

I know the earlier Letus' were having difficulty with the bits of plastic dust/debris that found its way into the Letus. Do you find the same problems with the Extreme?

First off, this is great work. You guys are raising the bar.

In regards to dust/debris, I see a spot 1/4 the way thru where the girl with the backpack is looking up. Something is visible on the screen, looks like it is on the lens.

But I think it's a solid job with the lighting and use of shadows. Good luck going forward with this project.

Ah, just noticed you guys were from Singapore. I was there a few years back to visit with my wife's parents. Beautiful city.
