Hey everyone.
So, I need help. I SUCK at picking out gifts, and with christmas coming up, i need help figuring out what to get my boyfriend....
he's way into directing and writing and all that good stuff. He uses a dvx Panasonic 100 B, which he loves.
I'm also poor, and can't afford the 2,000 lenses he wants.
Any suggestions on something useful or just nice to have that I don't have to drop out of college to afford?
Also...if you know of any sites or what not where they sell fun stuff, please do link me up.
thanks guys!.

buy him a dvxuser battery for his camera :) it's 79 bucks and you can get it from this site... Click the banner at the bottom of the page.

You do know that if he has a dvx, he's probably a member of this site though, don't you :)

I'm guessing the boyfriend is on this forum, and actually answered the post without knowing who the girls accoutn is. That would be interesting.

I got an awesome book on the history of special effects for my birthday from my sister.
She's also given me a director's chair, and a custom printed hoodie in the past too.

Gifts don't need to be production equipment, to be film related.

You could also just get him a bag of wooden clothes pegs and a roll of baking paper.
Just don't get him one of those cheesy tourist clapper boards. :)

I love when girlfriends come here and ask for gift ideas. I think thats adorable. My girlfriend came here and asked for me once and for some reason, her writing style maybe, I could just tell it was her. I watched that dialogue go on for days and never told her I knew...but I'd chime in...."what you REALLY should get him..."

Heres another avenue...instead of getting him gear why not get him some classic movies from his favorite director?
