Using HD to allow a nice editing effect for a music video

Here's a music video I edited while staying with "The Filmcore" in California for a week. As we all know, the HD resolution allows us to zoom into the frame a significant amount before becoming extremely pixelated like SD and I don't think I've seen this put to use quite in the way that I did with this music video.

It's definitely different... Let me know what you think.

It was shot with one of the HD JVC models.

I like it a lot. Good movement and close up work. It flows with the music and has a nice blend of black and white with the color scenes. The white back ground seems to have a creamy softness to it and the other color back grounds give it a nice feel. I like the end shot showing the band together with the lights in the back. It looks like film to me.

Great Job!

Thanks guys, I'm glad you liked it.

Micheal- I'm sorry, I don't mean to take credit for the entire video. I was only the editor and just wanted to shine some light on a different way to make use of being able to artificially zoom in to HD video, thus being able to create movements to a stationary camera shot. Also, those "lights" in the back on the last shot, aren't what they appear to be. It's actually just a nice backdrop! Pretty cool huh?

What Cam was this shot with?

What are the details?

The Transit War rocks and they are actually pretty damn cool. If you can see em definitely worth it.

I'm almost positive it was shot with the JVC GY-HD100. If not that, then it was the HD110.

What type of details are you looking for? It was directed by Darren Doane. I could attach some photos that I took while on set if you'd like.

The Transit War are real cool guys and after meeting them and editing their video I've started listening to them. Have yet to see them live though.
