Blood, Guns, and Fire! - New Short Film

Wasn't this posted else where? downsouth, in the other thread he explained all the settings and what not, but i don't know where that is...

The fire scene as a plugin he bought from a website.

I liked it. Reminded me a bit of "True Romance". The stand-off part anyway. The effects were pretty good, maybe a little too splashy with the blood, but still cool.

I could have done without the "He was my son!" line. That was pretty much a given. The music also didn't seem to fit quite right and I saw the boom mic shadow a few times.

Still, 48 hours! Pretty sweet work. You did a really great job!
I could use you for some SFX work. :)

very well made, like mentioned above the blood was a bit over exaggerated in my opinion, and the fire in the end seemed pretty loud. other than those two things, very nice job especially considering that it was made in such a short period of time.
 
Thanks guys... yeah the blood isn't the most realistic in the world, but it's pretty much my first attempt at digital SFX so I just basically feeling it out. Glad you liked it though.
 
Yeah in the Screen Grabs/Clips section, but no one was responding so I posted it here to get some feedback.
 
Where did you get the blood content from? Is it from Detonation Films? I agree that it's not entirely realistic, but it works for a exagerated / stylized tone to the violence.
 
Yeah they are from detonation films... which is a great site for giving away so much free content. I'm going to experiment more with filming my own effects plates for more control of angles and blood consistency etc...
