Brevis35 Short with new GG

Thanks. The music was just for the footage. I was looking for something that I can fade clips with. The actual film definitely has drama but the director also has some comedic moments in it. It's really a very nice story with a happy ending.
The director had an audition and waited till the person fit the spot. I don't know how she politicked the girl but she did get the lead spot and was the star.
There was a little bit of self conscience during the school hallway scene where all the students laugh at her in the gold dress. You could see it on her face she was really embarrassed but she worked through it with the director.

Thats honestly the best Brevis footage I think ive seen. I'm glad the edge blurring was a result of something you purposefully did because at first I was like "what a shame" lol. These grabs show me the Brevis is actually just as sharp as what ide want. Maybe the Letus EX isn't necessarily necessary :P ? Seeing that footage shows me the kind of shots I would want too and now I know they're possible.

Good stuff man, kudos

Thanks Kyle. :) The next thing I shoot will be more Brevis and I'm going to try some other lenses I'm borrowing from a friend to test. Dennis says it can handle slow zoom lenses so I'm going to put it to the test. I might even try to squeeze in a hollows fest entry if I have time when I get back from a 7 day shooting trip next week and test the lenses.

Aram, we've got an 18 to 28mm f4.5 el cheapo zoom here that works quite well. Give it a try.

You keep getting better every time you shoot :-) The paper "follow" at 0:41 was a nice touch, as were the creative angles throughout. The score was icing on the cake.

Thanks :)
I shot that dang "paper follow" like 8 times to get it right. It pulls out to reveal a whole shrine of cut outs, its a nice sequence. I got your other message too, I will get on that in the next few days.

I liked the shots allot. its allso nice to see a golden style, very different. How much does the new Brevis cost. and does it keep the image flipped or upright. Im looking at buying a 35mm adaptor and this one looks like a nice choice from these shots. How would this compare to the Letus. Have u had a good experiance using it. maybe its off topic but I would love to get the best solution. the M2 and the image flip and fiddly adjustments might cause me problems.

Claire, you can check out prices etc at www.cinevate.com

The adapter is usable in two modes, flipped or non-flipped. We've got a promotion running for the next month or so that bundles the adapter with our 45cm carbon rails system and Brevis-to-rails support for $1290 or so. The flip module kits won't be shipping for another 3-4 weeks. Flip footage from the XHA1 can be previewed here: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=113907

Hi Claire,
I love using the Brevis and I will be using it as long as I can. I have been using it since the Beta stage and love the new improvements to it. Keep an eye out in the next 2 months, I have 3 music videos lined up and I will be using the Brevis on all of them.

One will be for Madison Taylor and her new single "Sorry".

One will be for Amazing Grace's "No" featuring styles P

And another but no site for him up yet.

I was just at a red carpet event thursday at Cipriani's for something in Dubai, they were auctioning off a day with Tiger Woods and something else over there in Dubai for Sarah Ferguson's Charity.

Excelent. I think the PGA desert classic is out here in a couple of weeks. Downloading test footage as I type from the Brevis. There are many options for 35mm adaptors and with such skilled people behind the cameras all the footage looks good. What do you believe seperates the Brevis from its competition, if even u would go as far to say that it has none.

Think i will be shelling out for a mattbox also and a tripod sometime next month. If you have any recomendations Beat i would apreciate the advice.

Thank you and good luck with those videos. The company i work for are the record label for the reasonably new band in the middle east. Abri. www.abrimusic.com should be doing a couple more music vids for them shortly. Love music vids. we use the offices Sony HDCAM for those prodjects, but i wanna show the guys that my Baby can do better. Hence the reason im investing in more gear, anyhoo i ramble. Thx :)

They have a "Brand New Heavies" kind of feel thats cool. I was going to say how can a band not have music on their site but then saw the little play button at the top. I'm sure you will get them to give you much respect after you shoot something with the HVX and Brevis setup. You just have to keep using it all the time to see what it can do. Don't let it sit and gather dust in between gigs. One reason for that is to train you to remember to turn that sucker on before you shoot. I still forget once in a while. :P I take mine out to the park and just shoot stuff and try different things. I actually haven't done that in a while though because I have so busy I don't have time to sit and go through my own footage when I have 30 tapes sitting in a pile next to me with someone else's project on them.

Um, I would say the weight is the first thing that separates the Brevis. Then I would say the cool ass carbon fibre casing. Then I would say the compactness of the unit for transport and Dennis is always upgrading and improving on it while others seem to sit back until they have no choice but to make improvements.

Awsome, yeah wont gather much dust and if it does il get out the cue tips and windex. Just did that the other day to clean up the HDcam for the Abri launch party. Thing looked brand new was scared to touch it.

U got a recomendation for a tripod and mattbox. or a link to a sight that helped u with that choice. Its such a b**tch trying to find importers here that i can get demos of the products and even if they had the importers they prolly wouldnt have the model i needed to test anyway. In newyork that must not be an issue. Any tips would be awsome. and hey thx for ur support man, glad u liked the music, the site is still kinda in construction but it gives u the idea.

Cheers

Instead of paying for shipping of all thoes items, you mind as well fly to the US buy em and go home. The dollar is pretty low right now spo there are deals to be had if the exchange rate works in your favor.....

We got the red cam comming after christmas, pretty excited about that. As for shipping costs, i take advantage of the free in US shipping with Aramex. Aramex is a shipping company over here like fed ex that will give u a US post code and ship the stuff that goes to it over to u for a good rate or its pay monthly, something like that. Its because of all the anti world companies in the states that since sept 11th seemed to stop shipping out of the US, mabe it happened before sept 11th but thats the time that i noticed it the most. At the time was trying to get a laptop from the states and then all of a sudden in US shipping only was all over the place, was a bit of a pain. B&H ship worldwide tho which is awsome. love that store.

Im gonna get a macbook pro i think in jan if they get updated.. im hopping they go HD disk or Blue ray. its about damn time tbh, and with the screen rez on those things and processing power i think they could do it.

Anyhoo yeah, ticket to the states is like 4500 dhs, umm, 1000 bucks us, to fly from here to Newyork non stop, as much as i would love to do that i hate flying and with the aramex thing i think i would spend only an extra 500dhs 100dollers in shipping max.

Still no ideas on what rig to go for. And yes Beat, the Brevi sure looks good, and i like the way i can shorten it to BREVI and sound cool. Always helps.

Thx again guys.

Nice. Was supposed to shoot a music video on the RED this month but it got pushed til January. I say it all. The Brevis35 35mm adapter when I mention it.
Ok that was a lie. I say that long thing over there in the case.

Thanks. :)
She is almost finished. She just emailed me today to help with some post in one of the shots. I will definitely let you know when its done.
