DVXUser Batteries and Marshall Monitor

Hey Guys,

I recently bought the 7in Marshall Monitor with the panasonic plate on it from Nebtek and just got it today. I immediatly hooked up my HVX to it with a DVXUser 5600mah battery on the back plate of the monitor. I noticed that the battery doesnt quite fit right and casues the monitor to go on and off when I move it alittle. So then I tried the Panasonic Battery that came with the HVX and it was fine. I was just wondering if anyone else came across this? Its no big deal but would like to know. I suppose thats why they are "aftermarket" batteries, they are really really close to the originals but maybe just off alittle. Other wise the batteries are great! Oh yeah and the monitor it amazing too!!

Thanks,
John G.

I'm using the same set-up from Nebtek and don't have any problems using multiple batteries. You might want to give Nebtek a call and see if they can help you troubleshoot it. Have you done the obvious and measured your batteries/checked thieir connection terminals to eliminate physical differences?

Hey Dave,

Yeah I called Nebtek and they werent familiar with the battery I had (DVXUser). They said they normally use the 5400mah panny one. They said just stick with actual panny ones. I'll have to measure the batteries tomorrow and see what the difference is. All I know is that when the DVXuser battery is on and I shake the monitor alittle is that the battery moves alittle up and down. The Panny one doesnt do that when its on, Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm digging this thread up...

I was planning on ordering 3 or 4 of the 5600mah batteries for my DVX and for my Marshall (with panasonic plate) and was curious if you all ever found out any more info about the 5600mah fitting the plate. Thanks.

Works great for me too. No issues at all.

If you have the xtra cash, you may also want to spring for a Dolgin Turbo Charger. Its really a blessing with so many power hungry toys around.

That charger is a godsend. I have the 4 bay one. It's fantastic. Charge four batteries in the time it takes you to run one down using it with the HVX.

Ditto.

It's interesting about the nebtek battery fit. I have a similar situation with my CTA batteries on my HVX and on the P2 store, if it shakes, the power goes off for a second, and that can be deadly for the data on a p2 store (corruption). It's also quite annoying on the HVX. The battery tabs look intact to me so I don't think it's that. The stock Panny battery hasn't given me any probs though.

The loose connection problem is a result of some batteries having their contacts a little too deep inside them. The variation from one to another is very little, about .01" or so. The plates also have their "knife" contacts a little lower then the OEM Panasonics are. A combination of a slightly deeper contact with a lower plate contacts sometimes would result in intermittent connection.

I sometimes have a problem removing my lone DVXuser battery from my HVX. It get s stuck somehow.

And even though it was the third purchased of the four batts I own, it's the one that dies the fastest.
