Trouble with exposure/interior of car

I am battling the "blown out" exterior seen through the window (day time shooting) of a car as I shoot while sitting inside. I am shooting the subjects within the car as I sit in the car with them. My only thoughts are lighting the interior of the vehicle, but this is not possible due to the documentary nature of this project. Any suggestions?

ND or limo tint the windows. Use battery operated/or inverter powered lights .Kino flo's work great at night and late, late afternoon. Or you can use even bigger lights that stay within your inverters range of power. Worst case scenario, and very gorilla...buy some BLACK"Tule" fabric.
This is the same stuff that little girls dance tu-tu's are made of, and is a fabric very similar to the fabric found in most nets/scrims. Cut it up into window sized pieces, and use gaffer's tape to adhere it to the car's windows. Make sure it is VERY tight against the window.
If your truly "run and gun", you'll have to only count on raising the interior of the cars light level, if you don't have the time to Pre- tint your windows.
