Abstract Intro (For a fake movie)

So my friend and I have made it a hobby to film odd things up close and see what we come up with. Yesterday we filmed this colored-oil water toy thingy. I'm sure you'll recognize it when you watch the video. Anyway, I decided that what we should would be perfect for an opening credit sequence. And it is.

Let me know what you think:

Great thinking on that. Looks totally cool. And if you hadn't hinted, I would have thought it was done in After effects.

Well, seeing as I have no idea how to work After Effects (that, and I don't have it) this is definitely shot on a DVX and just color/contrast enhanced in Sony Vegas 7.

Thanks for the kind words. I promise I'll have some actual film content some day. College eats up a lot of time.

The song is "Anecdote" by Ambulance LTD. It's used in some commercial on TV, so that's probably where you're getting the professional vibe. If I were to use this in a real project I'd replace the music with an original score, or find a local band that fits the mood and set up an agreement with them.

That was fantastic - good use of the little oil thing. I know what they are but dont know what they are called :) Has a very pro feel, and I didnt have my sound on. So is the camera on its side? I cant quite remember how the toy worked.

yea. We started with the camera upright, but then we decided to be daring and just rest it on it's side. Worked out perfectly.

Thanks :)
