When you edit Standard Definition 24f footage using Final Cut Pro the only option is NTSC (no reference to frame rate). Does this footage stay 24f or does it default to 29f?

First you need to figure out which one you shot in. Put the tape in the A1 and in VCR mode go to a shot that you filmed. Look at the top at the frame rate...look in your manual and it should tell you what the color means because if im not mistaken the 24f should be yellow or something if its 24pa and just normal if its 2:3. Check the manual then google removing "your pulldown" in FCP. Should find an answer pretty quick.

Canon Rep. said FCP will always display 29 frames even if you shoot 24f when capturing using Standard Def. He says it will say it captured 29 frames per sec. but it will be played back at 24f.

On a side note: When I capture HD in 24f it reads 23.98 so you'd think SD would do the same... oh, well.
