Rob Zombie's Halloween

i mean aside from everyone here always feeling like they could have done a better job, i think this movie was great. Rob is someone who i think brings something new to the game, where everyone is cutting down their movies and making them all dialogue and throwing some gore in there just to make it a horror movie, i think he's got a good balance in his flicks. some parts were slow i agree, the acting might not be so great i definately agree with that i think he needs to stop giving his wife roles man, she just butchers them although she's FINE. But i think he did a good job, and compared to the last 3 or 4 halloweens, i think he did a great job. also my most favorite movie of all time is the original HALLOWEEN.

I have yet to see this movie in theatres yet. I download it via Bittorrent, and it was a completely different version then it is in the theatres everyone has told me. Supposibly, it is the directors cut and I have showed it to everyone I know who have seen it in theatres and they say it is ALOT better.

JAWS

I'd remake it in a second

WTF? Why?

I'm not a huge Spielberg fan, but I have enough respect for the guy and his work not to go fussing with it.

Where is the upside? You most likely will not make a film as good, nevermind better than the original, and there is the chance you will mess it up large.

So either you'e the guy who remade Jaws, and did an okay job, but people would be better served seeing the original...or you're the hack who messed up a classic by one of the country's greatest filmmakers.

Or would you do a (pointless) shot-for shot 'remake,' like they did with Psycho?

Remake Reservoir Dogs. The kids and generally ignorant public will think you're being original and call you a genius, and you can tell the rest of the world that it is an homage to an homage.

You never know though, a good director can pull of a good horror re-make. Take David Cronenberg's The Fly or John Carpenter's The Thing for instance. Not saying I'd like Jaws or any movies to be re-made anymore for that matter. Just saying.

I know all too much of the sacred ground I'd be walking on; and disclaim I am not ready to tackle it now (Will I ever be  ? )

It is my favorite film of all time. If there is one film I'd remake, it'd be JAWS.

I'd love to do it; with a a rewrite based on the source material. Did you know in the novel, Brody's wife has a fling with Hooper ?

True true true

The new DAWN of the DEAD, Scarface, Cape Fear, Heaven Can Wait ...

all superior IMO

I don't know. I guess I am saying, if it was being remade, I'd want to do it over anyone else; not on skill, but on respect.
