I want to post a link to a quicktime file on these message boards and send it via e-mail to a friend...how do I do it?

To link to any Quicktime movie you have to know the directory of the server that it's on as well as the exact name of the file (including capitalization). For example, a file that is in the folder Video and is Named My File.mov would be:

www.website.com/Video/My File.mov

Note that the empty space is filled in by %20.

You have to purchase one through providers such as Dreamhost or GoDaddy. It's dirt cheap and getting cheaper all the time. If you don't have a server of your own you'll have to ask someone who do. Then use an FTP client such as Filezilla and the domain (server name) and password to access the server directory. Then just drag the file into it. Think of it like a big online hard drive.

You can use a free hosting service such as senduit and others. Senduit can hold 100mb files for a few minutes to up to a week. just send the link in email or post on a message board:

http://www.senduit.com/

Actually just use blip.tv it so much better then Utube. and your friends can watch or even down load the actual file that you post it there.

You can choose to play the souce file or just the flash file on thier site. Just choose the file fomat that you want to play it in. (source or web)

here is a sample that I did for a friend dance group:

http://blip.tv/file/357890?filename=DavidChia-2IDDanceGroup121.mov
