$1650 for 32gig P2

We paid $1250 for an 8GB card in March 2006. Come to think of it, we paid $1200 for a 800 MEGABYTE drive to run with Video Vision Studio. The user group has changed, hasn't it? (snip)

I'm tell'n on myself here (ha ha) but I was just telling someone the other day about the first hard drive I ever bought . . . 20 MEGABYTES, cost $500 and I was doing cartwheels to get one at that price.

I've dragged this one out before, but the Apple ProFile hard disk for the Apple III computer stored a massive FIVE MEGABYTES (yep, five...) and it carried a price tag of only $1,995.00.

Dudes. im a kid respectively speaking. To me, 24p DV is like, "old stuff"..... Film? whats that? you mean there was a time when cell phones were the size of a house phone?!!!!? ETC....

In two years things have changed so much i cant believe it.

I was hanging out for the 32gb cards as i thought the price would be in line with what the 16s were released at.

Nah, the price was quoted for 32's the same time the price for 16's came out... Actually, I think the original price for 32's was going to be 1800, so it appears that they are slightly cheaper than that out of the gate.

I'll be getting some anyways.:)

Back at NAB they did announce the 32's and did say that they'd be $1800, so yes they're a little bit less. I was hoping for even less than they are, of course, but at least they're not priced at $1800 as originally announced.

I remember when I got my Amiga 1200 in early 1993. It came with a 40MB hard drive. I was like, "Wow!!! How on earth will I EVER fill up FORTY MEGS?!"

A few months later, I noticed my computer acting a little funny. My hard drive was 99% full!

Amiga 1200? What about the original, wasn't it the Amiga 500? Where you had to load the operating system off a floppy disk...

Amiga 1000 was the first, followed by the 500 and the 2000. I had the use of a neighbor's 1000 and my own 500, followed by a 4000, then jumped ship to mac. They were pretty amazing machines for the time, but they fell behind towards the end.

That's how my first Mac was.... The Mac Plus

We had an external disc drive for it because you had to run the OS off a disc....
and it only had one built in disc drive.

;)

Genius.

i had a commodore 64.... i was 3-4....

Then i had a IBM 186, .... that was the fastest computer EVER in 1986..... haha...

Oh-yeah? My first computer was a rock--that's right, a rock. When I held the rock it was a 1 and when I put it down it was a 0. One crummy bit. And on some days I couldn't find the rock, so it the computer was stuck at 0 all day.

Or something like that :Drogar-BlackEye(DBG

Possibly from "Blazing Saddles", if my hazy memory serves me...

I remember dropping a stack of punch cards and having to put them back in the right order. The only good thing was that the JCL (Job Control Language) cards were a different color, so it was easy to weed those out...

My first computer was a Tandy 1000 EX. We got the 640K RAM upgrade. Never could afford the 30 MB external HDD. Would'ev been sweet though. :)
