I was exchanging tapes to see what was on a tape i had sitting in my camera bag. It was 6am and i was tired and i popped in a cleaning tape not realizing it was. So im trying ti play the tape to see whats on it. getting baffled because it only rewinds for like 10 seconds before begginning of tape. then fast foward. then rewind. then play..and this goes on for a couple minutes before i pop the tape out deeming it bad and then took the time to actually READ THE TAPE. my question is..is the cleaning tape still any good? i FFWD it all the way to the end and back to beginning several times. any flaming is fair game ;-)
 
I would be far more worried about what it's done to the heads. It's like running sandpaper through the camera.
 
hahaha...

the dvx has tough pro video heads. im sure they survived. though i'd have it looked at by specc com, or Nievie electronics in ny.
 
oh man, this one is a good story. Toss the tape, get a new one, and then dont' use it untill yoru camera tells you it needs cleaning or you see head clog.

For now, your camera is probably pretty clean if the tape was relativly clean. That beeing said, if it was a mostly used cleanign tape, your heads may actually be dirty now and in need of a cleaning!
