Zoom H4 For Backup Audio??

I've also been using the H4 as per recommended here on DVXuser.

This thing can do miracles, but shortcomings like what Barry mentioned. I've used this on-location, live concerts, mixing console feeds, powering microphones and used it as a MP3 player. For the price and my purpose of using it, it's well worth it.

Although the H4 is inexpensive and practical to use, the screen size, font size, and menu-digging has always been a drag for me to function. Also, it exports everything in USB 1.1 speed, rather than the standard v2.0. I'm not sure what they were thinking, but this is a no-no compared to today's technology.

Recently purchased a H4 and used it to get feeds from a band's Yamaha mixer (SUB-Out) to WAV files. Worked great. The synch was off from a camera mounted microphone but easily fixed in Audacity by changing the Speed (under Effect) by 0.050. I would recommend it as an entry level field recorder.
