Coverting from Hdv to Sd after capturing

Hi, I am brand new to this forum and have been working with video for about 3 weeks now. This forum has been of great help for me. I own the canon A1 and final cut studio 1. Everything I've done so far has been Hdv 24f. with downcoverting on on the A1 ,then capture using the Dv Ntsc anamorphic settings .

My question is , can I capture Hdv with the 1080 24f easy settings and then export it(Compressor) as a Ntsc video. Would it make any diference on a Tv. Which preset should I use?

Excuse my ignorance and pardon my english, it is not my first language.

that is generally what you do. However, i have heard that if you import your 1080 footage into a 720x480 project, and resize it, you get a better quality image than simply exporting your 1080i footage as SD.
