So after watching a couple eps on Mirrkat Manor, I deceided I would go out and see if I can tame one myself. First problem I ran into, No mirrkats here in this state, or maybe even coutnry (discounting the zoos) The only thing I had left, I did somewhat train. Allowed me 4-6inches away.

About an hour and 1500 fly bites. (yes I said fly bites. No I did not know flies bite, but I do know)

I went to relax and get some excerise, and end up meeting this guy, we hit it off and next thing I know, I pulled out the miniVari cam out of the UAV and I was screwing around filming. Only about 40mins, and did not even fill up a 4gig P2. just having fun, but I wanted to give ya a laught. I just threw it together and made it look .. well you'll see

Do squirrels really live underground? I'm confused... and intrigued.

like 'em both P. I especially like the squirrel piece.... Even after a year of ownership.. still so fun to shoot and edit little pieces like this. I especially like one of the squirrel shots with the faster shutter... nice work.

would be cool to get a little lipstick cam and place it inside.... see what the bugger is doin'

Hahah, the "squirrel" piece is awesome. However, that's not a squirrel, it's a chipmunk. And to answer SeanEmer's question, no squirrels do not live underground, they nest in trees. Chipmunks, however, burrow ;)

haha, I feel better now. My entire concept of reality was at stake... "the squirrels are burrowing!? What are they up to? It's like Vietnam all over again!"

Hey guys thanks for the feedback.

Actually it is a Squirrel. Also known as the Spermophilus Elegans and Spermophilus spilosoma Bennett. Ground squirrels range in size from tiny spotted ground squirrels, barely larger than a chipmunk, to rock squirrels 20 inches long or as large as some tree squirrels.. .

Thanks for the comments on the footage. I mean I know it was only for fun, but I think I made them look interesting and fun. Or at least that is what I was going for???

Both vids are wicked fun.

That squirrel is actually a Spermophilus tridecemlineatus, a thirteen-lined ground squirrel.

I vote conservation, my other personality votes destruction!

Trust Yahoo for nothing, Wiki/Google for everything!

"The Thirteen-lined ground squirrel (Spermophilus tridecemlineatus), also known as the Striped Gopher, a Squinney in parts of Iowa, and as the Leopard-Spermophile in Audubon’s day, is a brownish ground squirrel with 13 alternating brown and whitish longitudinal lines (sometimes partially broken into spots) on back and sides creating rows of whitish spots within dark lines."

I'm a geek and can't handle misinformation.

Cheers!

Okay so I was out in my back yard looking over my new sprinkler system and I had a major steve irwin moment. I just wanted to see how this lil guy looked in HD. Depth of Field is great. Iris is like 5.8 @ 1/1000
