anyone want to build one of these?

ya it's cool..my friend is using one just like this to shoot a tourism video. It seems like a bunch of bullshit to me...just get a dolly and track.

Ya, i dont get these systems at all. do it like the filmpros do and get yourself a dolly. make one. basically, all that crap is just to get smooth shoot of the camera moving. If you watch behind the scenes of any 35mm film movie, you'll never see them using this rioting peice of hunk. did you know you could do the same exact thing with a plywood sqare about 2"x2" with wheels mouted underneath on the sides. just grab a latter and you got exaclty what they have. except it cost you thousands of less.

Did you watch the video?

This system will allow the dolly to go upside down with ease. I thought that was pretty cool.

Did anyone watch the demo? And/or look at the price?

I think it'd be well worth it to some degree considering it's versatility, at the same time... $4k isn't really the ideal ballpark for dollies in the indy world. I do like the product though. Seems like it could be used in a lot of different ways.

Agreed berg.... It looks professional, the brakes are a nice touch. but too rich for my blood!! even if I had an extra 30,000. I would get an extra cam and invest the rest, just too much money.

I agree with everyone that it's very expensive. If I had the free time to make one, I could defiantly do it. The thing that I liked the most is that it can be mounted upside down. This is why we have this thread, so hows up for the challenge?

For a mere 3g's this tool could save you 30,000? It might even help you make it

This is looks to be a well engineered tool. One person can use it, shoots get one of these that skater and your rock'n.

Ya I did. Ya that seems pretty cool. Honestly though..how many times are you going to need that in your productions? For 4000 dollars, seems a bit ridiculous. I agree that this could be built for much less.

I've been developing something like this for a while that works with user-supplied speedrail. What I bring is the trucks, wheels and a proprietary tie system which mounts to 5/8 baby studs.

Trick is making it invert without the standard truck system interfering with the ties. Anyway, it'll be somewhat a lot less than that system, but it's little more than vaproware for the time being.

I've had an idea for awhile to do essentially a monopod dolly, where it's ran along 1 track... I've been kind of wanting to test that out. I think it would work. Do products like that exist? Should I start my patents so no one steals the idea? :-p

This this lookes great. I love the design. It's expensive but all film gear is stupidly priced for idiot production companies with bottomless pockets.

Am I jaded.

Anyway, this looks like a great tool.
