How do I export a finished hdv 24f project as a ProRes 1080p24 file or uncompressed 1080p24 file? I need to take it into after effects to do some effects.
 
hmm, sorry, cant help ya there. try in the FCP section. ( im a premier pro ujser ) and i would have told ya that if you're using pp2, you can't export straight HDV. You need to encode it ( never actually tried this though )

This is my quick and dirty way of doing it:

Just make a new HDV 24F sequence, right-click on the new sequence icon and go to sequence settings, THEN change the codec to ProRes. (change the codec settings before opening the sequence on a timeline, for some reason you can't easily change the codec with anything other than a blank sequence)

Copy/paste your finished HDV 24F timeline/sequence into the new sequence and export as a self-contained QT, then import to AE as a transcoded ProRes clip.
