Thanks Barry, i think that a cuple of 16 Gigs would be enough, maybe 3... (at $850 each, good enough)
do you know anything about this 32 express card adapter (MacBookPro) to download the P2 cards on the laptop?... any news?

GBY

Fer :dankk2:

16GB cards are available right now. 32GB cards will be available starting in November, but that's probably too late for you.

Hoodman has announced they'll be making P2-compatible cards, but since their announcement we haven't heard another word so -- who knows about that.

I mean go search for it, there are many people having problems with it or struggling with it, and there are other people trying to help them, so there's lots of discussion out there and you'd need to sort through it to determine whether you think it's ready or whether you'd want to wait...

let me just say that i think its ridiculous noone has come up with a better solution than strapping powerbooks and harddrives to their backs with the HVX, the mobile work flow of shooting in HD is currently a nightmare and needs addressing from someone like panasonic. even a cineporter is limited to retaining 4-7 hours of raw. I am going to south america where if im lucky i MIGHT get electricity 1/10th of the time, for now I've completely ruled out shooting in HD as its totally unfeasible. Someone needs to come out with a 1.5TB solution, QUICK. Im sure you guys are already aware...

What solution would you suggest?

No body even makes a 1.5 terabyte hard drive, much less one in a small form factor.

Just for the record, check out Glyph drives. They make a GT 062 1.5TB drive designed especially for audio/video.
