Thought I would start this as a separate thread because it is important.

After playing with this for a while, I was able to install it and get it running in 7.2 QT on a MacPro.

Note, you now can import mxf files directly into FCP. However, the audio and video come in separately.

FCP will give you alert indicating the files are not optimized for FCP, but dismiss that, and connect the audio files with the video files and you do have that ability to work with MXF directly.

Quite cool

Raylight syncs audio and video, and more robust features are promised, such as writing to a p2 card.

This is a nice new content manager software, but it is different than Raylight

Hey there.. Im sorry.
I didnt mean to sound like I was knocking Raylight for Mac in any way, shape, or form.

I just simply meant that now there is a way to use mxf in FCP BESIDES Raylight.

Raylight For Mac is an awesome solution to a problem that Apple should have delt with long ago. In fact I would probably be using Raylight for Mac, but for now Im using OnLocation until the 16 GB P2 market stabilizes.

The new Management software installs an MXF Quicktime component (codec) which allows you to import MXF (no linked audio) into any Quicktime aware app. The component is dated May, so this has been in development for some time.

Yes you can bring MXf directly in with this program but how do you remove advanced pulldown if you shot 1080 24pa. Seems you still have to go through P2 import in FCP my 5.1.4
