Camera recommendations

I am an aspiring filmmaker looking to buy a camera to use for my filmmaking. I have had a good amount of experience with the Panasonic DVX100B and have liked it. I was planning to buy this but wasn’t sure if there were any cameras out there in the same price range that I should look at first. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.

you should also consider the canon xh a1.....it shoots 24p as well and give you hdv and 16:9 plus a 20x zoom. I believe it is only a few hundred bucks more right now.

Thanks for the recommendation; I will look into that camera. I’ve heard good things about Canon cameras in the past. Anyone else have any suggestions?

The XH-A1 is around $1000 more, if you're looking at them used (DVX around $2000 and XHA1 $3000). Then again, I've decided to save up for the XH-A1. You might want to do some research on an XL2 as well.

I love the FX-1.
Most bang for the buck for me so far.

I would go with an FX-1, very legit camera.

It's an interlaced only camera. With only medium quality manual controls and a joke of an audio section.
