Any Direct to Disk for HVX? Anyone?

Hi...
I'm new in this forum. I would like to know whether anyone have been using any Direct To Disk (DTD) software on the mac such as: HD Monitor Pro, ScopeBox, BigMugSoftware or perhaps directly to FCP injest?

Does the software work flawlessly if one is using a MacBook or MacBook Pro thru its firewire?

I would like to know the workflow...Especially if anyone using it for the PAL version.
Thanks.

Search for other threads on this subject.

It works great with FCP in "capture now" mode on a MacBook Pro;
just make sure "abort capture on dropped frames" is unchecked.

Good luck!

I would argue that if you encounter dropped frames, you need to look for a more robust capture solution.

I've used Scopebox on a MacBook not pro with a 7200 rpm Hitachi without issue.

"Flawless?" The term should not be used when recording to disk.

I've used the DV Monitor Pro (SD) version and am extremely happy with it.
You might want to contact the developer directly about HD Monitor Pro. He is a member of this forum: bena

I haven't used the HD version since I don't shoot HD, but if it is as good as the SD version, it will be an extremely good product.
