Hi all,
This is a spec Bloc Party video I made on the stock HVX for my senior Communication Capstone project in college. It was a one-man project (plus actors), and I used After Effects for the visual effects and FCP to edit. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

cool, the chase scenes would've looked better handheld rather than steadicam though, other than that it was cool. did you use the natural lighting from the streetlights in your night scenes?

Hey TK3, I used a Glidecam 4000 for a steadicam and full length mirror on the ground that I put a mini skateboard from the sports store on for a dolly. (the parts where she sort of glides was on a homemade large sized dolly). Everything was just the stock lens...

FilmBoy77, yeah a lot of that was just natural streetlight, but the really cold looking stuff was a 2x4 Kinoflo I borrowed from work. The end scene was lit with a Maglite, the bathroom stuff with a China ball with a 100 watt tungsten bulb, and the walking-down-the-stairs stuff just natural sunlight.

Thanks guys!

Look at the two idiots who posted before me, no compliments no nothing. "WHAT LIGHTS DID YOU USE." "WHAT LENS DID YOU USE" "WHAT PANTS DID YOU WEAR WHEN YOU WERE FILMING THIS??". Its a fabulous video man and its unfortunante that hard work like this gets no compliments. Keep it up.

Hey, that was fantastic! Loved the tempo, the camera work, the performances, the color schemes, the concept. Very impressive.

huh? can you even read jackass? i told him i thought his video was cool. you want me to crown him too???

common sense tells you if people are asking questions about your setup it means they admire what you've done or think you've done a good job. if it sucked nobody would comment or ask questions.

visually it looks nice in some parts....like the chase scene and night time parking lot scene....but i think it needs to be cut up a whole lot more.....the beginning was really really reallly slow and not all that interesting...and it doesnt hurt to cut to the beat.....Songs for Clay is good song though....

Yeah, I agree, I was going for a slow start since the song's that way, but not as slow as it turned out. Next time I need to shoot more coverage; this one was a bit rushed. More footage should help the editing too...
