hi everyone i was wondering is it possible to convert 60i footage to 24p in premeire pro 2.0,if yes how do i do it.thank you

Not possible. You need After Effect.

Just did a search on this (and just ordered After Effects), but do you know of anywhere this procedure has been discussed before? I couldn't find anything in the AE forum.

I've got some mixed footage, some with 60i, I'd like to get in slow mo. I don't have the AE manual in hand yet, but I'm assuming it's going to be somewhat daunting for newbie.

I'm also using Premiere Pro (older 1.5 though).

thanks

If you only ordered AE to do the conversion, find out if you can canel the order or return it--that's far too much money to invest for what you are trying to do (at least as specified in your question).

There are probably very few software packages, and plug-ins, that I don't have for a PC. RayLight is a no brainer--it works, it will work with the software you presently use (and also will if you upgrade your PremPro later). Free demo and great price.

Do it!

To be honest, I've got a VERY good hookup for adobe products. It's not worth canceling but I'll check RayLight out as well. There are some other things I've been wanting to do that After Effects fits the bill for anyway.

But I harbor no delusions......if there's a better (easier) way to do the 60i conversion, I'm happy to explore them. I've been using an old GL2 for while and I can't justify an HD cam right now. So whatever I get (100b probably in the near future), I'm going to want to do this quite a bit.

Thanks for the info!
