Clint is the man

I like:

Where Eagles Dare
Kelly's Heroes
Dirty Harry
Escape From Alcatraz
Heartbreak Ridge
Space Cowboy's

Any western he does !

Aw! Yeah John. I totally forgot about Escape from Alcatraz. That movie knocked me off my seat in like 5th grade. I think it was one of the first "old" movies that I liked as a kid.

Heartbreak Ridge. I forgot about that one. Nice.
Up until the point where he punches Sweed in the face. After that it goes way too "A-Team."
All of his old west acting gigs were great. Even some of the mor obsure stuff like "2 Mules for Sister Sarah". None can do the western hard ass like Clint.

I really like "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil". An odd flick for Clint, but that's why he's so good.

I especially like his approach to filmmaking. He is famous for bringing his shows in early and under budget. The teamster hate him because he has 8 hour shooting days.

I really respect his knowledge and experience.

Unforgiven, Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby. What the f**K? If he only had these films on his resume, he would still be listed with the best there has ever been.

My problem with Clint is history. I fell in love with the cat in the late '60s when my Dad, the strongest influence on my filmmaking career took me to all the "Man with no name features" first run at our local theatres. The problem is that when I came of age and started to express my own opinions about film, Clint was into the acting with monkeys stage which I could not stand. I gave up on the guy for a while. Then I saw the Unforgiven. Clint Eastwood is a Genius. Then I saw Mystic River. Genius is an understatment. I think that if The Unforgiven and Mystic River were to be studied by a film student, they would learn more about film then most of the film schools ever teach.

yeah hire great actors who do only 3 takes

Thats the thing with Clint...he's made some movies that are better than others obviously, but I've never met a Clint movie that I didn't like. Heck, I even liked Bronco Billy...
