Hello everyone. I have began production on new Halloween Fan film that I hope to have completed and online before the new Rob Zombie remake hits theaters. I wanted to stop by and post a few promo pics I took of the Myers costume that will be used in the film.

Well, tel me what you think.

I just ordered a CB105 shoulder mount and a (very cheap) boom mic. I want to begin production next week once my stuff gets in. In the meantime I will work on the gore effects for it.

Oh, by the way, does anyone have a good scene file setup for a Halloween-ish feel? I was thinking it should defintely be dark and unsaturated. I am testing out the "Office" settings I saw on here where the candle was the subject of the shoot.

Don't forget that "dark" doesn't mean shoot when it's dark, because then the image will look like crap. Give it plenty of light and you can lower the brightness in post.

You are completely right. I definitely want it to be well lit so it wont need to be gamma corrected in post, which gives it a grainy look. I just want to make sure that the scene file settings I use are optimal for it, which will save a lot of time in post.

I might be getting a camera stabilizer soon. Thought about building a jid as well before I shoot. I am also gonna watch November tonight, which is filmed on the DVX, so I wonder what scene file settings were used on it... I saw screens and a trailer for it and it has a good dark mood to it.

I would really like to get a 35 mm lense and adaptor before I start to shoot. WHat is the cheapest one I can get? Also, maybe someone has a homemade version they might sell for a low price?

Ok, I got my stedi-cam style rig in the other day. I also got my boom mic, track and dolly all ready to go. I am having the actors go over the lines for the next couple of days, and I will begin the first day of production on thursday if all goes as planned. Hopefully I can get the first days shoot done and edited by the weekend and move on to the next scene on Sun or Mon.

I cant wait to get some footage (enough for a trailer at least) ready. Hopefully tonight/tomarrow I will have some stuff to show.
