Steadicam Merlin / A1 - Initial Test

In the Merlin settings you posted earlier, what battery are you using in the camera and how are you accounting for the LCD flip angle (which, I imagine, is not going to be a precise angle)?

I was using the standard 950G battery.
The LCD position does have a significant effect on the balance of the Merlin, but it can easily be accounted for using the fore-and-aft and side-to-side trim rollers. These are used for fine tuning the rig and are not mentioned in the cookbook settings.

Hi guys, I have not tried any steadicam before but am looking to purchase one. Can I just ask why would you buy a merlin instead of the jr? I know that Merlin is newer, however the jr comes with a monitor and they are about the same price. Is the handling much better with merlin?

also, I might just ask this question. I'm also looking to upgrade my camera to either sony v1 or canon a1. Which one do you think is better? There've been so many discussions about this and I thought I'd just ask some personal opinions in here. Thanks.
