None of this Promo footage will be in the movie. Our "free" DP couldn't make it that night. After a nightmare of a shoot, I decided to hire and pay a cinematographer who's also a lighting expert.
We were supposed to use the HVX200 but the firestore was all messed up, so I hopped on my DVX100. I love the DVX anyway, so I didn't mind at all, even if I had to shoot the entire movie on it.
The DVX100 with the Anamorphic lens is amazing! Really nice images at night. I have a 7" widescreen Portable DVD player as an on-camera monitor with the SpiderBrace. Next time I'll pump a lot more light into the scenes and use the FS-4 Firestore with DVRig Pro, maybe even a Matte Box for added looks. =) One thing about the spiderbrace is the camera gets wicked heavy after a while. I can't imagine shooting 8 hours with it without having arms like the incredible hulk. BUT its way better than not having any support for the camera. I love how you can set the camera down anywhere attached to the spiderbrace.
I shot all of the chase sequence and our "behind the scenes" videographer shot the interior car sequence with bad lighting and wrong camera settings (no white balance). I had to bring up in post, so it's VERY grainy now (image below).
For CC, I stomped on the blacks and pumped up the whites for the chase sequence.
I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. Please leave a comment if you download the video from our server. Thanks and have a good one.
