hi all, i really need your help

i just bought an hvx200 - i shoot some stuff on a mini dv tape
and wanted to upload it to my PC
i have both fire wire and usb2 connections

i attached my hvx200 to the PC and tried to install the drivers - when the driver is asking me to connect the hvx through the usb2 - i attached it open the power and tried all the various type - VCR,mcr,PC,camera,etc... and the PC didn't saw the camera and couldn't continue with the installment

then i tried working with the fire wire and once again my PC can't see the camera
i change on the menu to the ieee 1394 Interface and nothing happened

i have a celeron 2.2 ghz
1 GB of ram memory
Microsoft windows xp with service pack 2

please, i really need your help
thanks

Page 87 of the manual pretty well details the procedure.

Have you gone through all of the steps there?

And with what NLE are you trying to capture?

thanks

thanks

hi david
yes i followed the procedure in page 87
and i have the problem even before the NLE program
when i'm trying to install the driver i'm getting a massage to connect the camera so it'll finish the installtion and i'm connecting the camera via usb2 and the computre don't recognize the camera and don't go through the installation process

as to the NLE programs
i'm working with premiere pro 2 - that can't see the p2 files but should see the mini dv tapes i'm working with
and with avid free dv that also don't "see" my camera

if you have some more ideas it'll be great
thanks a lot

Did you put the camera into MCR mode first by pressing the MODE button, and once in MCR mode, press and hold the MODE button again for two seconds to initiate the connection?

Also, I doubt those program you mentioned will work with a USB connection. If the camera is set for a IEEE 1394 connection and in TAPE mode or P2 + DV recording mode, they should work.

i also tried it....

i also tried it....

hi THoff
i tryed it - i switched from every mode i can - vcr, mcr, pc, dub... etc. - nothing changed
and the camera is set to IEEE 1394 and i attached a firwire cable and still both programs don't recognize the firewire device and tell me that there isn't any device attached to them....

thanks again
and if anyone have some more ideas i'll appriciate it

i have the same problem, iknow that my 1394 Interface is broken because i was accedently tripped on the cable :(

But that shouldnt be a problem for the usb ,wich i have never used before !
