Hey guys, me and a four my buddies entered a 48 hour film contest this weekend and just wanted to share what we came up with. Shot with an XH-A1 and a Redrock M2. I didn't write or direct the piece but I was the director of photography, did picture and sound editing, do vfx, color grade, and score the piece. We managed to pull it off and still get plenty of sleep! Anyway, here it is and tell me what you think!

I really enjoyed the film.
I was showing a friend the film and I noticed all of the SFX the second time but not the first time, the candles, her poofing into a cloud of smoke, Probably just me.

How did you do in the contest? Did you place or are you still waiting for results?

Great work for a 48hr film festival.

hmm, was sure i made a reply to this but,, anyways.

I thought you guys did a great job for such a short period of time.

In terms of DoP, editing, vfx, grading, and music, you did a fabulous job, as seems to be your trend these days :)

However the acting was very very lacking and borderline distracting. But the imagery, visual and sound elements kept things going.
Keep up the great work! You are going to far better things in the near future.

Thanks. Still waiting for results. I'll let you know what happens.

Started off very, very, well, especially considering the restrictions. A solid visual style and some very fitting music. Felt very similar to the type of thing I'd see on the Sundance chanel. The problem is, after the first two or so minuets, it really didn't go anywhere, and the ending was a total letdown.

Anyway, you did an excellent job. If only your writer and director could live up to your talent.
Get with a better writer, man, and watch magic happen.

I agree with this completely. It was great technically, but creatively it could use a lot of work. Then again it can be to have a good story in 4 weeks, let alone 48 hours. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your next piece.

really fun. i agree on the lackluster acting for the most part, but there quirkiness actually kept me interested. Loved all the color work. It really looked amazing.
We're actually competing in the Los Angeles 48 Hour Film Festival this weekend, and I hope ours looks even half as good as yours. Good Job.
