Can I edit DVCPRO HD and export to HDV?

Let's say a certain client of mine would insist on getting the footage in HDV format on a DV taple. Can I edit in DVCPRO HD and just export to tape a HDV version?

I am on the verge of investing in FCP and a nice Mac. If there is a better solution for doing what I describe please share the info.

Sure. You'd need a camera or deck to export to, but there's no reason that wouldn't work. You'd also need an appropriate camera or deck; JVC HDV is incompatible with 1080 HDV, so you'd probably want at least a JVC deck and a Sony deck.

Cool, thanks Barry

I am already in love with my HVX and do not want to shoot on an HDV cam. I did try out the newer Sony cam that shoots true progressive but the sound is not as good (sounds thin) and I can't stand the zebras at 70%. The actual video of the Sony does come fairly close (close enough for government work) to the HVX though.
