Getting FCP TO Recognize HV20 - Help!!!

I'm having trouble getting FCP 5.1.4 to recognize my HV20, it doesn't see the camera, either as DV or HDV. What's weird is iMovie recognizes it right off the bat as HD. Sorry if this question has been raised before, but how does one fix this issue?:huh:
 
Sounds like you need to update some drivers...

Use the search function at the top right.

Now I got log and capture to recognize, but it won't play back to the camera for preview or editing. Read over at HV20.com that this is standard. That can't be right, can it - that FCP won't play out HDV, it will only take it in? I'm at 5.1.4 on my FCP and don't see anything that is newer over at Apple, where are these drivers you speak of? Thanks.
 
Sounds like you've done your homework. Sorry, my suggestion was only a hunch based on other systems I've used...

I'll soon be investigating this myself as my wife and I just bought an HV-20 and we too are FCP users.

I'd also love to hear others' experiences editing with the HV20 on FCP (5.4 or 6). Haven't been able to find any information on that yet.
