Cant find 25pa mode anywhere?

Hi!

Been reading the different threds on this forum for the last couple of hours and cant realy find the answers im looking for.

Anyway.
Just got my hands on my own Hvx200. I live in a pal country by the way. My problem now is that i cant find the 1080i/25pa mode anyware. i Only can fins 25p. And from reading the different threds i understand that you need 25pa to be able to get thrue 1080p from my camera. Im gonna work on a 25p timeline. Dont really understand these stuff... How come i cant find 25pa? And what am i supposed to do now, if i dont have it? Want to get the most out of my camera.

I was allso wondering if pa is needed at all if i have the FS-100 v.3?

Hope someone could help this poor swede :)

There is no 25pa on the HVX202 dude. Just shoot 1080i / 25p and edit on the 25p timeline and you'll be sweet.

Got another question while i have the thread up...

Do i have to do any form of pulldown when i capture it on the computer?
 
Pulldown is for those poor schmucks like myself who reside in NTSC land.

With PAL you get the same vertical resolution as NTSC, a full 1080p, but you get a higher horizontal resolution (1440x1080 vs 1280x1080) owing to the fact that having fewer frames per second frees up some bandwidth.

But what im not getting then is... isn´t 1080i/25p 25p in a 50i signal. Then how come i dont have to do anything to get the 25p signal out of it?

By the way, if i capture the 1080i/25p signal with my firestore fs-100 v.3. In native, doesnt that mean that i got a pure 1080/25p signal then?

Nope, the HVX202 is the PAL version. It is not some super-secret "b" model with an improved LCD, selectable EVF/LCD image flip, improved focus assist, 6-pin Firewire connector, independent level control for all four audio channels, ...
