We get the HVX book 3 months after purchase

I can't stand big corps. They seem to do the most brainless things. This is why I can't wait for RED. Can you imagine the RED team doing something this brainless?

Brainless? What is so brainless about giving you soething or free?
Do you really think panasonic have dedicated their "best minds" to processing your rebate?
AFAIK Panasonic don't even handle the rebates. They are outsourced to another company. They just ship the materials to them.
Jan from Panasonic has been kind enough to assist several people on this board with their rebates when they were waiting for long periods.
Nothing like bitching when you are getting something for nothing!:crybaby:

It's Panasonic's responsibility whether it outsources or handles it directly.

Jan has been helpful, but in all fairness, the company's handling of the whole 8 GB p2 rebate has not been its finest hour.

You know, the company deserves credit, but there isn't anything wrong with criticizing it as well. It does have some holes in customer service, and at times can't supply the essential components for using the HVX200 and other cams -- namely p2 cards.

Whatever, nobody is more of a DVX cult member than myself. Using the DVX basically made the career I have now.

Nothing is for free. If they were not giving those "freebies" then they would be giving a cash rebate or something else as insentive. It is silly to "give away" something that is basically valuable only when the camera is new. Getting that book 3 months after the purchase is pointless.

Maybe they should translate it in many languages and put it into the hvxbox with the manuel.
I can understand peoples frustrations and deceptions ,but do you realize how that camera is amazing. It blows my mind away everytime i use it. I think thats whats important.
Just my two cents.

Hi,

I truly wish that you had gotten the book sooner Gregg, did you also get your P2 card?

We did not handle this rebate internally, there isn't enough manpower internally to handle it, we currently are doing an audit of the rebate company's efforts and we will go from there. I would agree that it could have been smoother, but there was no single contributing factor, I too was a contributing factor. I have been a little bit in the emotional flood of where you would be when your partner in life passes away and you have to review those lost dreams and formulate new ones.

The Rebate program was initiated without the proper documentation according to Sarbannes-Oxley, customers didn't follow directions properly, hey I still am waiting for about 350 invoices that were not sent in, the P2 cards became difficult to get, the rebate folks would ship and UPS would lose it, the rebate folks would tell customers stuff that when questioned by me, would totally deny it and hey there is the issue where they lost one shipment from us to them.

So yes we are a big corporation, but in total, my portion of this company boils down to a very small number of people. It is part of why I take things in, because I know the people that are being criticized. Since this is my program, I feel it personally. I will be glad when it is finally over as it has been my worst nightmare, losing my husband and then to have my customers criticize me as well. I can't say that I have ever been closer to walking away from this industry in my life. But it is the people that surround me at Panasonic and a few here that have encouraged me to stay on.

I really do believe that Barry's Book is useful, whether you just get the camera or you have had it a year. Some of the information in it only makes sense once you have worked with the camera. I don't say that as a justification for how long it took to get the book to you, but as an insight to those that read it early on and have not picked it up in a couple of months, I recommend that you take another look through.

I am serious Gregg, did you also get the P2 card or is that still outstanding. Send me a PM with you last name and serial number and I should be able to look it up.

Thanks,

Jan

Jan,

So sorry to hear of your tragic loss.

Our frustration in not being able to shoot hd video seems to pale in comparison when hearing of the loss of one's soul mate.

Sincerely,

Freddy

I have an issue with my rebate offer. I sent in the electronic request & printed off that page. Unfortunately the box with the invoice was thrown away. What are my options? Will fullcompass send a copy of the invoice to Panasonic, or is it possible to send the UPC from the camera box?

As I stated, I wish there were two dozen more Jan Crittendens at Panasonic.

And while I occasionally criticize the company, and I do not understand anybody criticizing her.

I lost my Mom two months ago, and that was the toughest thing I've faced. Losing a spouse would be so difficult.

Sorry for your loss Jan, and you are obviously an amazing person for any company to have on their team.

Sorry for the negative thread. Can this thread just be deleted?

Contact Full Compass, have them send you a duplicate invoice, then carry on.

Best,

Jan
